Seek God, Not Perfection

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." — Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

We often strive for perfection—whether in our work, relationships, or personal achievements. But in this fallen world, perfection is an illusion. No matter how much we try to control

our circumstances, things will never be completely flawless. The pursuit of perfection can leave us feeling exhausted, discouraged, and unfulfilled.

Instead of pouring your energy into trying to make everything perfect, shift your focus to seeking God. He alone is perfect, and in Him, we find true peace, joy, and fulfillment. When we seek God first, trusting in His wisdom and guidance, He aligns our hearts with His will and provides what we truly need.

God doesn’t call us to be perfect—He calls us to be faithful. He knows our weaknesses and loves us anyway. Rather than striving for an impossible standard, rest in His grace and let His strength be made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Today, release the burden of perfection. Instead, pursue God with all your heart. He will fill the gaps, mend the broken pieces, and lead you into His perfect plan.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help me to seek You above all else. I surrender my need for perfection and place my trust in Your perfect will. Fill me with Your peace and remind me that Your grace is sufficient for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection:

Are there areas in your life where you are striving for perfection instead of seeking God? Take a moment today to surrender those areas to Him.
