Devotional: Confident in Him

Scripture:

"So we say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?'"

— Hebrews 13:6 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:

True confidence isn’t found in talent, appearance, status, or performance — it’s found in knowing who your God is and who you are in Him.

The world tells us to be self-confident, but Scripture calls us to be God-confident. That means we stop looking inward for validation and start looking upward for truth. The same God who created the universe is the One who strengthens you, equips you, and stands with you. That’s where unshakable confidence is born.

When you know God is your helper, fear loses its power.

When you believe He’s for you, comparison fades.

When you trust His voice, insecurity gets silenced.

Confidence in God isn’t arrogance — it’s rooted in humility. It says, “On my own, I’m limited — but with Him, I’m bold.” You don’t have to fake strength or force courage. You just have to stay close to the One who gives it freely.

Reflection:

Am I basing my confidence on God’s truth or my own feelings?

What would change if I lived today fully convinced that God is with me?

Prayer:

God, I don’t want to rely on my own strength. Remind me that my confidence comes from You. Help me walk boldly in who You’ve created me to be, trusting that You go before me, stand beside me, and live within me. Amen.
