Scripture:
"Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.'
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."
—Genesis 1:26-27 (NKJV)
Reflection:
From the very beginning, God created us with purpose, dignity, and identity. Unlike any other creation, we are made in His image—reflecting His nature, creativity, and ability to love. This truth reminds us that we are valuable not because of what we do, but because of who we are in Him.
Being created in God's image means we are called to live in relationship with Him, to reflect His character in our daily lives, and to steward the world He has entrusted to us. It also means that every human life—regardless of background, ability, or circumstance—has immeasurable worth.
Application:
Embrace your identity: You are fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image. Let go of doubts and insecurities, knowing that you were created with intentionality.
Reflect His character: In your actions, words, and decisions, strive to show love, grace, and wisdom, just as He does.
Honor others: Since every person is made in God’s image, treat others with respect and kindness, recognizing their God-given worth.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me in Your image. Help me to live in the confidence of who You made me to be. May my life reflect Your love, wisdom, and kindness, and may I honor others as bearers of Your image. In Jesus' name, Amen.
