Let Me Recall the Mercies of the Lord

Scripture:

"Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

— Lamentations 3:22-23

Devotional:

Let me recall the mercies of the Lord shown this day" is more than a poetic line — it's an invitation to look back and recognize where God was present. Maybe it was a new customer, an encouraging word, a peaceful moment, or even just the strength to keep going when you felt like giving up.

The mercies of the Lord are not always loud or flashy. Sometimes, they whisper through quiet moments of clarity, unexpected provision, or a gentle reminder that you're not walking alone. The pace of our lives can be relentless. Whether it's running a business, caring for others, or simply trying to stay afloat, we often move from one task to the next without pause. But Psalm after Psalm reminds us to stop — to reflect, to remember, to praise.

When we make space to remember His goodness, our hearts shift from anxiety to gratitude. And gratitude has a way of turning even the hardest days into offerings of praise.

Reflection:

Take a moment. Breathe. Ask yourself:

Where did I see God’s mercy today?

What blessing, big or small, did I experience?

How can I thank Him for it right now?

Prayer:

Lord, help me to pause and remember. Show me the moments I missed — the little mercies tucked into my day. Thank You for Your faithfulness that never fails. Teach me to see You in all things and to carry a heart of gratitude through it all. Amen.
