Daily Devotional: Putting God Above All Else

Scripture:

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33 (ESV)

Reflection:

Life often pulls us in many directions—work, relationships, responsibilities, and personal goals. It’s easy to let the urgent overshadow the eternal. But Jesus reminds us of a profound truth: when we seek God and His will above all else, everything else will fall into place according to His perfect plan.

Putting God first is not about neglecting the other parts of our lives but about centering them around Him. When we prioritize time in prayer, meditating on His Word, and living in obedience to His guidance, we align ourselves with His divine purpose.

God’s plans for us are far greater than what we can imagine. When we keep Him above all else, we not only experience His provision but also His peace and joy. Trusting Him means believing that even in seasons of waiting or uncertainty, He is working everything together for our good.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help me to put You above all else in my life. I trust that Your plans for me are good and perfect. Teach me to seek Your kingdom first and to rest in the assurance that You will provide everything I need. Strengthen my faith to follow Your lead every day. Amen.

Action Step:

Today, take inventory of your priorities. Is there anything you’ve placed above your relationship with God? Take a moment to realign your heart by spending time in prayer and committing to put Him first in all you do. Trust Him to work out the details of your life in His amazing way.
