Faith Over the Waves

Scripture:

"But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind."

— James 1:6

Devotional Thought:

Doubt feels natural sometimes. When prayers seem unanswered, when life feels out of control, when we can't see the next step — doubt creeps in.

James reminds us that doubt tosses us around like waves in a storm. It pulls us from certainty to fear, from peace to panic.

But faith anchors us.

Faith steadies the mind when emotions try to drown us.

Faith says, "Even if I don't see it, I trust Him anyway."

God isn’t angry when we wrestle with doubt — but He calls us to choose faith because He knows how unstable life becomes without it.

Faith doesn’t erase the questions; it just reminds us Who’s bigger than them.

When you feel tossed by uncertainty, don't drown in it. Anchor yourself in God's promises. Doubt may come, but faith gets the final word.

Reflection:

Where in my life am I letting doubt toss me around?

What promise of God can I anchor my heart to today?

Prayer:

God, You know how easily doubt can shake me. Help me to stand firm, to believe even when I can’t see. Anchor me deeper in Your promises so that no wave can move me. Amen.
